Button Tree Art

Get a little creative by painting an object, then embellishing it with various materials for texture and dimension, such as this Button Tree.

Crafted by Billie Jo.

Supplies

  • Canvas
  • Buttons
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Adhesive
  • Paintbrush

1.  Apply paint to the entire canvas in a light color for the background.
2.  Set aside to let dry.
3.  Once dry, paint your tree.
4.  Set aside to let dry.
5.  Adhere the buttons with glue onto the desired branches to complete your tree.

You can choose to glue on different materials, such as flowers, leaves, fabric, paper, etc. instead of buttons.

Let the canvas dry completely before hanging.

You can also add miniature picture frames to make a picture tree. Simply adhere the frames in the desired areas using a strong adhesive.

And, if you have space or an open area on the bottom of the canvas, you could always use it to display vinyl lettering or wooden letters to spell out a name or meaningful word that correlates with the canvas.
