DIY Cable Knit Afghan

Knit a beautiful and soft afghan like this to keep you warm and cozy during chilly nights.

Supplies

  • 2 Balls of Marble Chunky
  • 8 Balls of Blush
  • A Pair of Size 17 Needles

You can choose to make any color afghan you would like, but for this project, Patty chose MC12 for the Marble Chunky and SAL-408 for Blush.

Cast on 112 stitches.
Knit 10 rows.

Start the Cable Pattern

Row 1  Knit 10 * Purl 2, K8 slip the next 4 st knit onto cable needle and put to the back of the work. Knit the next 4 stitches from the cable needle.*

Row 2  Knit 10, *K2, Purl 8, K2 - 9x until last 10 stitches - knit last 10 stitches.

Row 3  Knit 10, * P2, K8, P2 - 9x until you hit last 10 stitches - knit last 10 stitches.

Row 4  Knit 10, *K2, Purl 8, K2 - 9x until last 10 stitches - knit last 10 stitches.

Row 5  Knit 10, * P2, K8, P2 - 9x until you hit last 10 stitches - knit last 10 stitches.

Row 6  Knit 10, *K2, Purl 8, K2 - 9x until last 10 stitches - knit last 10 stitches.

Repeat rows 1 through 6 for pattern, 20x.

Finish  Knit 10 rows and cast off.
