Halloween Geo Mesh Tree

Did you know that you can make a decorative Geo Mesh tree using a tomato cage?

Not only is this a unique project that will draw attention, but it is also very lightweight making it easy to move, mess free and completely customizable!

Supplies

• Tomato Cage
• Geo Mesh
• Chenille Pipe Cleaners
• Scissors
• Decorations

All supplies for this project can be found at our Bonney Lake store.

The number of rolls of Geo Mesh depends on the size of the tomato cage. A 33" tomato cage was used for this project, so it took 2 rolls of Geo Mesh to cover it.

1.  Wrap a pipe cleaner around the open ends of the top part of the tomato cage to secure them together.

2.  With a pipe cleaner, tie one end of your lights to the top and let it cascade down the center, making sure the plug is at the bottom of the tomato cage.

Be sure the lights are cool to the touch, such as LED lights, and do not get hot when left on. For this project, Cheryl used string lights.

When placing the Geo Mesh onto the tomato cage, small loops will give the tree a narrow look whereas larger loops will give your tree fullness. Since you are tying the Geo Mesh onto the tomato cage, it is not permanent, so you can always redo the loops.

3.  You are going to make a series of loops and tie them to a the tomato cage one by one, as you go around and down.
4.  Once the tomato cage is completely covered, add embellishments of your choice to celebrate the theme of the holiday or season.
