This is an easy project to create in an afternoon.
I took a wood heart plaque, some sweater print scrapbook paper, paint and a red POSCA marker and finished with this home plaque. Since the heart board had a tan finish and our sweater paper was grey toned, I painted a grey wash on the board, mixing black and white paint to get a grey tone. The wash was allowed to dry a bit, then I created another tone of grey and rewashed the darker areas.
Next I cut out the paper to fit two of the vertical boards on the heart. I glued them down with Mod Podge and allowed them to dry.
Now I drew the home letters on with pencil and then painted them in with my red POSCA paint marker. If you are nervous about drawing letters, print out the word from a computer and use graphite paper to trace the word on your board.
