DIY Crackle Finish Chalk Paint Art

The chalk paint and crackle finish by Americana Decor are easy to use and we have a great project to share with you. Billie Jo created this wall art while we filmed a video for our store and Youtube channel.

Supplies:
Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paints, Red, Brown and Tan
Americana Decor Crackle Medium
Americana Decor Soft Touch or Satin Varnish
One Unfinished Wood  Plaque
Unfinshed Wood Letters H, M, E
Unfinished Wood Heart
One Doily

Directions:
Apply brown chalk paint to the top and sides of the wood plaque.
Allow to dry.
Apply even coat of the crackle medium to the plaque over the base coat.
TIP: The heavier the coat, the larger the cracks. The thinner the coat, the smaller the cracks.
Allow to dry.
Now apply a thin coat of contrasting paint color on top of the crackle medium.
Allow to dry. The top layer of paint will begin crackling while drying, exposing the basecoat color.
While the plaque is drying paint the wood letters with the brown paint.
Paint the heart with the red paint. Allow to dry.
Glue the doily and the letters to the plaque and allow to dry completely.

Your chalk paint crackle medium project is finished!

Here is the video that shows the easy process.
