This weekend I was snowed in and decided to make and decorate cookies for Valentine's Day. It has been a while since I have used my decorating tips and as you can see my outlining is shaky. The Royal Icing frosting was a bit too thick and it did not go on smoothly. Then I used a flood fill technique to frost the whole cookie. That worked out just fine.
I planned on making little hearts on the cookies, so I added drops of white frosting. The white frosting could have been just a little thinner. I took a toothpick and pulled through the white starting at the top to create a heart. This works well if your frosting is not beginning to set.
It's definitely not my best work. I need to practice this more to create a better looking design but my family will eat them even if they do not look perfect.

I'm having the same struggles in cookie decorating too. They say practice makes perfect but some times it can be disheartening. Keep practicing i keep telling myself. Your cookies are pretty good compare to me.
