Paint dowels and cones with chalkboard paint as per directions. Recommended curing time is 24 hours. You can move forward on your project while paint cures. Be sure to condition cured paint by rubbing entire surface with chalk (side, not point) then wipe it off. I added more chalk to achieve the look I wanted. Cut pointed ends of cones so they are flush (same size) as drawer pulls. Drill holes in center of dowels to fit screw end of drawer pulls. Use quick grip glue to adhere cones to bottom of drawer pulls. Screw dowels onto drawer pulls.
Cut 4” strips from “Intent” paper (3) and “Diverse” (2). Line 2 clear pails with “Intent” paper, cutting the 3rd strip to extend strips to cover entire inside of pail. Line 3rd pail with “Diverse” paper in the same fashion..
Score entire sheet of “Classic” paper at ½” intervals. Cut 3 – 4” strips across score lines. Trim to 9” long. Fold on score lines back and forth, then bend each cut end in half to match sides and create medallion. Glue with Zip dry; clamp until dry. Tie center with ribbon or bakers twine with enough length to tie medallion to cone.
Cut 3 – 2-1/2” squares from black chipboard. Use ½” circle punch to cut rounded indents on all corners. I rubbed with chalk and wiped off to match chalkboard look. Trace on the letters J O Y, then fill in with white galaxy marker; I did 2 layers, and draw line around edges. Glue to medallions with quick grip, or zip dry.
Flags for edges were made by cutting ¾” strips of paper from leftover “Intent” and “Diverse” paper and using the flip side design. ¾” strips were cut into seventeen 1-1/4” pieces and notched on the bottom. Adhere with zip dry or double stick tape to a thin strip of paper that is long enough to go entirely around top edge of pail. Or glue directly to pail if you do not want to make multi-use (Halloween) decoration. Punch holes at each end of paper and use bakers twine to tie your “banner” to the edge of bucket.
Cut floral foam in three pieces, and cut edges to fit inside pails. Fill in spaces with tissue paper or more foam. Insert dowel into foam, leveling all 3 cones, and tie medallions to cones. Put paper shreds over top of foam.
