  2. It appears that the purl side is the side with the ruffle. Knit side is on the inside of the purse. Is this correct? Appreciate hearing an answer....Thanks & Happy New Year......Patti

    1. Hi Patti! Yes, that is correct. Once you have the purse done, you will turn the ruffles to the outside.

    2. What did I do wrong? One ball is not enough for me to finish the bag.

    3. We don't think you are doing anything wrong. Some people have been able to make the purse just out of one skein, but most need two. We have edited the instructions to state 2 skeins are needed for the purse.

  3. How do you do the lining?
    Thanks....Robin

    1. Use fabric and firm interfacing to sew to shape. You can add plastic to hold the shape of the bag.

  4. I am new to the knitting world. I understood everything in your video until the end where you didn't show the bind off. I ended up with an open seam am I supposed to sew it closed on the side. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I was left perplexed. Many thanks for this lovely pattern. Take good care.

    1. You can watch Milly's Cast Off video on our YouTube channel to bind off. You can also sew the ends together, squaring the ends together.

    2. I apologize. I meant the side seam, not the bottom. Thank you again for taking the time to answer my questions.

  5. Love this purse pattern but would also like to see more detailed steps as to the working of the bind off.

Any ideas for pillows and possibly a clutch purse pattern for eveing wear in the near future? Would love to have something like this for Christmas.
Thank you again for this great pattern.

    1. The bag itself measures 8" x 8" x 1" and then the handles can be at whatever length you desire.

  7. Is there a video for the shaping of the bottom of the bag? Thanks! Kristen

    1. The only video we have for the handbag is the one in the post. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Milly at (253) 862-6822. Thank you!

  8. Absolutely love this pattern, but as the scarf yarn is a tad expensive, I've been using a toning chunky yarn for the body of the bag (after the ruffles) which makes them a lot less expensive to make for my charity projects. Although I do use the scarf yarn all the way through if making presents for friends and family!
