Inspiration: Book Box

A book box is a pretty neat craft item because you can decorate it to treasure your most precious keepsakes.

By applying paint and covering it in embellishments, you can take this plain looking book box and turn it into a stunning project like the one below.

Crafted by Kristen.

Kristen went with a fairy tale theme by adorning the book box with:

  • Feathers
  • Flowers
  • Butterflies
  • Diamond trim
  • Rhinestones

She added metal feet to each corner, used coordinating papers and accented the book box with paints using stencils on the inside and outside.

Here's a peek inside. You will see that this would make a great gift for a bride and groom to store sentimental mementos from their special day.

You can use the book box to store jewelry, photos, letters, cards, and other tokens. You can even use it as a gift box.

How would you decorate a book box and what items would you store inside?
