D.I.Y. Framed Memory Board

A memory board is not only a great way to stay organized, but also to display photos, notes, cards and more for your home and office.

Supplies

  • Frame
  • Foam Board
  • Burlap
  • Ribbon
  • Buttons
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Thread and Needle
  • Scissors
  • Staple Gun

For this project, we used burlap but you may use any fabric you desire.

The size of the foam board should match the size of your frame. For example, if you have a 12" x 12" frame, then your foam board should be 12" x 12."

There are two ways to create this memory board. You can sew the buttons onto the burlap or hot glue them on.

First, we will walk you through the steps if you were to sew the buttons on.

1.  Measure and cut the burlap large enough to wrap around the edges (to the back) of the foam board.
2.  Measure and cut strips of ribbon and lay them across the burlap in the desired pattern.
3.  Sew on the buttons at the intersecting areas of the ribbons.

4.  When you are done, wrap the burlap around the foam board, one edge at a time, and staple it.

Be sure to smooth out any wrinkles before securing the burlap to the board.
5.  Place it into the frame and it's ready to hang!

Now, we will walk you through the steps if you were to hot glue the buttons on.

1.  Measure and cut the burlap large enough to wrap around the edges (to the back) of the foam board.
2.  Measure and cut strips of ribbon and lay them across the burlap in the desired pattern.
3.  Glue underneath the intersecting areas of the ribbons so that it adheres to the burlap.
4.  Then, glue the button on top of each intersecting ribbon.

5.  When you are done, wrap the burlap around the foam board, one edge at a time, and staple it.

Again, be sure to smooth out any wrinkles before securing the burlap to the board.

6.  Place it into the frame and it's ready to hang!
