DIY Ornaments For All Ages

Making ornaments is a fun activity for everyone in the family. We have put together a few ideas to inspire your family crafting event.

Mason Jar lids can be wrapped in twine, yarn or baker's twine. Or, you can glue scrapbook paper to the inside of the lid and add a festive embellishment. We love this plaid paper with a small wooden deer.

Painting a figure on a glass ball is always a favorite. We used POSCA acrylic paint pens. If you are nervous about drawing on the ornament you can hold a printed design behind the glass and then draw an outline.

Make black and white copies of your favorite photographs, then cut them out and glue them to wood ornaments using Mod Podge.

Festive scrapbook papers can be glued to wood ornaments to create unique and personalized ornaments. Add small wood pieces for embellishments if you choose.

Wood burn drawing or phrases on small wood discs. Add paint to give extra detail to your ornaments.

Small wood spools are perfect for creating wish lists for Santa. Make one for everyone in your family and hang them on the tree.

Mini craft sticks have many uses, and you will love this small sled. Paint it in your favorite color and it is ready for the Christmas tree.

Mini wood doors can be dressed up with a miniature wreath for an adorable welcoming decoration for the wreath on your front door, or your Christmas tree.

Paint a craft light bulb to make a penguin or Goofy. The possibilities are endless. What will you create? Stop by your Bonney Lake Ben Franklin store and stock up on all the supplies you need to make your ornament crafting event a success!
