Summer Creativity With Watercolors

We would love to hear what your summer creative projects are. Feel free to share them with us on Facebook and our other social media channels.

I recently started working with watercolors again. I had not used them for a long time. I am finding that while difficult at first, practice will have me feeling confident again. The act of playing with them in my sketchbook has become very relaxing to me and my favorite thing to do on these warm Summer evenings. I take my sketchbook and watercolor paints outside to my patio and look around for inspiration. Sometimes it is a single leaf from the tree, and other times it can be the whole tree. Creating the leaf using only colored pencils gives the image a whole different feel. Combining the watercolors and colored pencil can be a great technique and is also something to play with.
