Using Makin's Clay to Decorate a Picture Frame

Makin's Clay is a non-toxic no bake polymer clay that air dries, is easy to use, and biodegradable.

Since it can be easily shaped and sculpted, we are going to show you how you can use it to decorate a picture frame.

Crafted by Pershette.

 Supplies

  • Ready-to-Decorate or Unfinished Frame
  • Makin's Clay in White
  • Embossing Folder (Tim Holtz Texture Fades)
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paintbrush

1.  Roll the clay to the desired size for the frame.
2.  Use an embossing folder, such as Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades, to imprint a design onto the clay.
3.  Place the clay onto the desired areas of the frame, using your fingers to mend the edges of the clay into the frame.

You can use Makin's Clay Push Molds to create embellishments to adhere on the top of the embossed clay.
4.  Let the clay dry for 24 hours.
5.  Once the clay is dry, apply paint to the clay in the desired color(s) and frame.
6.  Let dry.

Metallic paint absorbs the light to show every detail in the design.
