Inspiration: Glass Blocks

Here is a photo of our next project.

Gotcha! We're totally kidding of course. Well, kind of...

That image is what most people picture in their minds when they hear the words "glass block," but we are going to show you how to create beautiful home decor with them.

Fill the block with items (like flowers, fillers, candy, etc.). Use Mod Podge
to adhere paper to glass for a colorful design and add vinyl words.

Apply spray paint and vinyl words to the glass,
then wrap ribbon around it.

Use Adirondack Alcohol Ink or Americana Crystal Gloss Enamels
to color the glass, then apply embellishments with E-6000.

Color the glass with alcohol ink, apply embellishments using
E-6000, and use battery operated lights to make it glow!

Fill the glass block with faux flowers and acrylic fillers
with battery operated lights to make it glow.

Now that you have seen what you can create with glass blocks, how will you design yours?

  2. Janet, the decorative metal feet are Tim Holtz Idea-ology Foundations. You can find them at our store, other craft stores, and online.
