D.I.Y. Paper Lined Set of Trays

This is a really neat set of wooden trays, but they are obviously need a splash of color.

Pershette used the Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze Collection as a color palette for the project.

Crafted by Pershette.

Supplies

  • Tray
  • Patterned Scrapbooking Paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors

All supplies for this project can be found at our Bonney Lake store.

You can choose to paint your tray or leave it as it is and skip to step 3.

1.  Using the paintbrush, apply paint color(s) of your choice to the tray.

The trays Pershette is decorating are made of wood. If your tray is metal, plastic, or glass, be sure to select the proper paint for the surface.

2.  Set aside and let dry.
3.  Using the paintbrush, apply an even coat Mod Podge to the inside areas of the tray of where you would like to adhere the paper.
4.  Place the paper onto the area you applied the Mod Podge and smooth out all areas to firmly adhere it to the tray.
5.  Brush an even coat of Mod Podge in smooth, straight strokes onto the paper to seal and finish.
6.  If you painted the tray, apply an even coat of Mod Podge to the entire tray (top, bottom, sides) to seal and finish.

Pershette did apply a crackle finish to the inside of one of the trays. You can learn how to create a crackle finish here.
