Meet Franklin, Our Elf on the Shelf

Guess who showed up today at the store? Franklin, our resident Elf on the Shelf. He has some elf buddies hiding in boxes waiting for families to bring them home, but he lives here in Bonney Lake within our store. Franklin has the task of watching over our employees and reporting back to Santa. It is a pretty easy job because Ben Franklin's employees are pretty great.
Come to our store and see if you can spot our elf!

Do you know the story behind the Elf on the Shelf tradition?
The story goes that Santa sends a small pixie elf to live with families for the holidays, starting with Thanksgiving. His job was to watch the children and report their behavior back to Santa at the North Pole each night. The next morning when the children woke, they would find the elf resting in a new spot in the house. Children loved to be the first to spot their elf each morning. The elf was magical, but the children could not touch him or the magic would disappear. They could however, talk to him and sharing their Christmas wishes was encouraged. The elf was allowed to speak to adults at night after the children were sleeping. The gentle reminder that "the elf is watching" helped children control  their behavior during the exciting holidays. The Elf on the Shelf tradition has created many treasured Christmas memories for families through the years.
