Game Day Cupcake Supplies at Ben Franklin!

Here is a great treat to make for Super Bowl Sunday, a football themed birthday party, or any other event that calls for a bit of chocolate cake! Our family calls this the Crazy Cake Recipe, and since it does not have eggs or dairy, it is a great cake for people with allergies. Once you try this recipe it will become a family favorite for you, too.

Game Day Cupcakes

Chocolate Cupcakes

3 cups cake flour, sifted
2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup Hersheys® Baking Cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons white vinegar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups cold water

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. (If you are making a cake it can all be mixed in your cake pan for easy clean up.) Add the oil, vanilla and water to the dry ingredients. Mix with a whisk or fork. Then add the vinegar to the cake mix. Stir. Pour batter into cupcake liners in a cupcake pan. Bake until wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean; approximately 15 – 25 minutes depending on your oven style.  Let cool.

To Frost:
Add Wilton frosting to a Wilton frosting bag with a cupcake tip.  Squeeze gently and top the cupcake with frosting. Spray the top of the cupcake with the green color, and then the blue color.
