Ben Franklin Painting Instructor Spotlight

We would like to introduce Dave Bryan, one of our class instructors.

Dave Bryan offers Acrylic Painting classes monthly at the Ben Franklin in Bonney Lake. Regular sign-up times are offered each month and he is open to schedule special request times and projects as well. This can be done with a call to Christy, the Class Coordinator. During his classes, you bring a picture of what you want to paint and he will help you create it.
Dave was drawing and painting before he could even write. As a young student he often found himself drawing pictures of airplanes when he was supposed to be doing his math. In High School he was runner up for the Scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago, missing it by only two-tenths of a GPA point.
After spending a career as an Engineer for the Railroad, he retired then worked in sales until he found himself bed-bound by an illness. This is when he rediscovered and rejuvenated his love for art. He often used small art pieces as payment for special goodies from the nursing staff.
He now sells his work at various vendor shows and locations, but specializes in pet portraits upon request.
Since Dave’s recovery, he has enjoyed working in the school district reading with kids in his grandchildren’s classroom.
Now, Ben Franklin is fortunate to have him working with adults and kids alike, teaching them that painting is easy and fun.

Look for ACRYLIC PAINTING BASICS on the monthly calendar for an opportunity to learn from Artist Dave Bryan.

This is a painting that 13 year old Ariel S. did in a two hour class with Dave.
