You can choose to draw the image on your egg for a totally creative project, or find an image to print out and use graphite paper to transfer to the egg with a stylus.
Decide if you want a solid paint colored egg or an opaque watercolor painted egg.
Supplies Needed:
One Creative Versa-Tool Wood Burning Kit
Wooden Egg
Graphite Paper
Pencil or Stylus
Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint
Directions for Chalky Finish Painted Egg:
Paint the egg with Americana Chalky Finish paint for a solid painted egg and allow to dry.
Choose a fine tip to burn your drawing lines into the wood. Screw the tip tightly into the tool.Plug in your wood burning tool and set on a medium high heat, then let warm up.
Draw the image on the egg, or use a piece of graphite paper to transfer a printed image to the egg by placing the graphite paper on the egg, placing the printed image on top and tracing the lines with a stylus. Remove both papers when finished.
Pick up your heated tool and begin to burn lines in the wood by following your drawing. Moving your tool slowly will give you darker lines while moving with quick motions will give you a much lighter line.
If you feel the lines are just too dark turn your heat temperature down a notch, allow to cool for a few and try again.
There are multiple tips in this kit that will allow you to shade areas or create wider lines.
