DIY Plastic-Free Sandwich Wrap

This eco-friendly sandwich wrap is reusable and made with 100% cotton cloth and all natural beeswax.
The beeswax makes it waterproof with the texture of wax paper, and so it is easy to wipe clean and reuse, but it is pliable and can be folded around a sandwich or other food items. Good for cheese, fruits veggies, sandwiches and more.

Supplies:
Beeswax
Parchment Paper
Baking Sheet
Tongs
100% Cotton, pre-washed with so softener or soap
Pinking Shears Scissors
Paintbrush - new
Cheese Grater
Needle
Thread
String, Twine or Jute
Button

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
Cut your fabric to size you prefer ( 12" x 12" suggested)
Lay parchment paper in your baking pan, then place fabric on top.
Sprinkle a layer of grated Beeswax evenly over the fabric and place in oven.
Let melt - this may take 5-12 minutes.
Remove from oven and spread melted wax evenly over the fabric with paintbrush.
Make sure the fabric is completely coated on both sides in wax.
Using tongs, grab corner of fabric and remove from pan.
Wave it around a little to cool.
Place on new sheet of parchment to cool completely.
Fold in desired envelope shape, and sew on a button and string closure to secure wrap.

How To Paint On Glass

It's easy to create a painting on a glass frame that will look beautiful in your home.

Angie used a black floating frame and painted on the glass with Marabu Glas and a Marabu Porcelain & Glas Fineliner to create these bright poppies.  She freehand painted this with paintbrushes and the Fineliner, but you could also put a drawing behind the glass to use as a guide.

Western Washington Quilt Shop Hop

The Quilt Shop Hop starts today!

Travel on the shop hop and have your passport stamped at each shop. You will receive a FREE block pattern from every store you visit and if you go to all of them, you will have all blocks for the shop hop quilt. Please, only one free pattern per person. You must be present to have your passport stamped.

You may choose to PURCHASE the fabric kit to make the block and ours is $4.99. This kit will contain ALL of the fabric needed to complete the block. Each shop’s block is unique and is priced at their discretion, which may vary from store to store.

Adults, over the age of 18, are eligible to enter their passport into the prize drawing. Make sure the checkbox on the back of the passport is marked stating that you are over 18.

To be eligible for prizes, you will turn in a passport stamped by at least 14 shops by Sunday July 1rst, 2018 at 5 pm to one of the participating shops. Make sure your name, address, phone number, and email address is printed clearly on the passport.

Create A Milk Jar Display for the Fourth

Create a fabulous Fourth of July display with glass bottles and scrapbooking paper.

We chose the festive Celebrate America Paper by Echo Park Paper Company. It's double-sided and we love both sides.

Cut a strip of paper and glue or tape with double sided tape to the glass bottle. Use a scallop and circle shaped paper punch by We R Memory Keepers to create this fun embellishment for the front of the jar. Put festive colored picks pinwheels and American flags in the jar. Add blue, red and patterned blue ribbon to the mouth of the jar.  These jars can also be altered and re-used for multiple holidays.

Celebrate America Mini Pennant

This pennant is easy to make and is a great addition to your 4th of July decor.

Supplies:
Celebrate America paper by Echo Park
Paper Accents Chipboard Pennant
Ribbon
Die Cut USA Letters
Glue

Instructions:

Cut paper to fit the chipboard triangles and glue down on the front side.

Use a paper punch to make a hole in the scrapbook paper.

(You may glue scrapbook paper to the back side if you choose.)

String a ribbon through the pennant holes.

Now tie extra ribbon pieces on the long ribbon.

Glue paper letters on the the pennants.

You can choose to keep the pennant small with three triangles, or add more for a longer pennant.

Fathers Day Gift For Baseball Fan

Is your dad a baseball fan? Make him a case for a special baseball. It will be a gift he will love to display.

Supplies:
One Unfinished Display Case with Opening Door
One Unfinished Wood Candlestick Holder
Americana Decor White Chalky Finish Paint
Americana Decor Brown Wax
E6000 Adhesive

Instructions:
Remove the metal candle holder from the candlestick with pliers.
Using E6000, glue the glass display box to the top of the candlestick and allow to dry completely.
Paint the wood pieces with the white chalk paint and allow to dry.
Brush on brown wax and wipe off until you are satisfied with the distressed appearance.
Add your prized baseball to the box and your project is finished.
