Botanical Print Wall Art

Do you frequently change out the art on your walls? Botanical art is a current trend and we thought we would show you how easy it is to create.

These fern prints are fast and easy to make.

The frame is a 12" x 12" unfinished pine and the canvas panel is 10" x 10".  We painted the inside of the wood frame with grey paint and let it dry. Then we masked off the interior and sprayed silver spray paint on the sides and front of the frame. We picked ferns from the yard and painted them with green acrylic paint, placed them on the canvas panel paint side down and covered the fern with a piece of paper before gently rubbing the entire fern. Then we removed the paper and the fern carefully and set it aside to dry.  The canvas panel can be permanently glued to the frame, or if you are planning on switching out your artwork you can attach the fern panel with sticky back Velcro pieces. Then you can easily change art in this frame.

Add interest by using multiple ferns for one print.

Technique #2: paint the entire canvas with green acrylic paint and allow to dry.  Then place your fern on the panel and spray paint the entire panel with white spray paint. This will give your art a soft and misty look.
