National Craft Month

March is National Craft Month and to celebrate, we will have Make-n-Takes every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at our Bonney Lake store.

What is National Craft Month?

In 1994, the Craft and Hobby Association created National Craft Month to recognize the fact that 56% of U.S. homes participate in crafting.

Crafts aren't about gluing construction paper and using popsicle sticks. Crafts are about creating things with your hands and skills.

Crafts can be comprised of textiles, paper, wood, metal, and glass. There are many crafting activities and hobbies, such as:

  • Knitting
  • Crocheting
  • Sewing
  • Felting
  • Beading
  • Decoupaging
  • Cardmaking
  • Scrapbooking
  • Rubber Stamping
  • Embossing
  • Basket Weaving
  • Doll Making
  • Etching
  • Polymer Clay
  • Papermaking
  • Calligraphy
  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Food Crafting

And so much more!

This is the month to get motivated to try new crafts or a hobby, and inspire by sharing ideas and projects.

Trying a new craft or hobby is not only fun, but can introduce you to new people and can be relaxing. It can also turn into a passion and lead you down a path you never thought you would go, like:

  • Start a Blog
  • Create a Business
  • Open an Etsy Store
  • Start a Group
  • Teach a Class

There is a wonderful rewarding feeling about creating something with your hands.

Is there a craft or hobby you've been wanting to try?
