The Gift of a Plastic Tumbler

Instead of using a gift bag or a basket, you could give a plastic tumbler not only as a gift itself but also fill it with fun gift items.

What do we typically do with a gift bag or basket? Usually toss it or store it away and forget all about it until you discover it upon cleaning...and then probably throw it away.

You're likely to get more use out of a reusable plastic tumbler than a gift bag or basket and it'll cut down on buying and throwing away plastic containers.

And let's not forget all the goodies that were included inside if you're the lucky gift recipient.

Here, for example, is a super cute way to give an "Easter basket" to those that have outgrown the grass-filled toy and candy baskets.

Crafted by Joy.

Supplies

  • Plastic Tumbler
  • Embellishments (Ribbon, Vinyl, Rhinestones, Stickers, etc.)

All supplies used for this project can be found at our Bonney Lake store.

  1. Decorate the tumbler as you wish.
  2. Fill it with goodies!

If you fill the tumbler with candy, you can layer different colors of candy, provide a mixture, or fill it up with a favorite.

You can even use it in place of a card by having people sign the outside with a Sharpie or paint pens, like DecoColor Acrylic Paint Pen or Zig Painty Pens.

This tumbler makes THE perfect gift for a coffee lover. You could wrap it with a coffee cozy, fill it with coffee beans, packets of creamer and sugar, and a gift certificate to their favorite coffee stand!

You could even use it to surprise someone with a special gift or news like an announcement of a little one on the way, your son or daughter finding keys to a new car, or your girlfriend discovering an engagement ring inside the tumbler.

This is one of those project ideas where you find yourself saying "why didn't I think of that?" Sometimes, it takes a little inspiration to look beyond what an item is normally used for to spark a creative idea.
