Ways to Decorate a Wooden Storage Bin

How would you decorate a storage bin like the one below?

Would you paint it all one color?
Would you coordinate it to match your home decor?
Would you customize it for the type of items it will store?

There are a variety of ways you could decorate this storage bin and the following are great examples.

Crafted by Pershette.

This storage bin was given a colorful look by painting each bin in a different color using Soy Paints from Delta. Then, Pershette used Mod Podge to glue color coordinated scrapbooking paper to all sides of the bin. Last, she organized the bins by using her own labels.

For this one, Pershette gave this storage bin a two tone look that coordinated with the colors of the fabric that she glued to the front face of the bins with Mod Podge. She cleverly added handles to each bin by gluing buttons onto miniature wooden spools which she then adhered to the front of each bin.

The first thing that typically comes to mind when seeing an unfinished wooden item is to paint it. Remember, the opportunities for creativity are endless so experiment with papers, fabrics, metals, and different textures. And try using stencils, vinyl, and embellishments like glitter, buttons, beads, ribbons, etc.
