Pom Pom Birds

Here is a fun craft you can do with your child!

Supplies

  • Pom Poms
  • Chenille Stems (Pipe Cleaners)
  • Felt
  • Googly Eyes
  • Adhesive
  • Scissors

All supplies for this project can be found at our Bonney Lake store.

For a kid friendly adhesive, you can use Elmer's Glue or Aleene's Original Tacky Glue.

Pom Pom Red


  1. Glue googly eyes to the red pom pom. 
  2. Cut small eyebrows using the black chenille stem and glue them on; or if you prefer, you could create eyebrows with felt.
  3. Cut a small triangle for the beak from a sheet of dark yellow or light orange felt and glue it on.
  4. Cut a round circle from the white felt for the chest and glue it on.
  5. Cut two small strips from the red felt for the top feathers and glue them on.

Pom Pom Yellow


  1. Trim the pom pom into a triangular shape by cutting the sides.
  2. Glue googly eyes to the yellow pom pom. 
  3. Cut small eyebrows using the brown chenille stem and glue them on; or if you prefer, you could create eyebrows with felt.
  4. Cut a small triangle for the beak from a sheet of dark yellow or light orange felt and glue it on.
  5. Cut a round circle from the white felt for the chest and glue it on.
  6. Cut four small strips from the black felt for the feathers on top of the head and glue them on.

Pom Pom Green


  1. Glue googly eyes to the green pom pom.
  2. Cut a round circle from the white felt for the nose and glue it on.
  3. Cut two small ovals from the black felt for the nostrils and glue them on.
  4. Cut two half ovals from the white felt for the ears. 
  5. Cut two small half ovals from the black felt and glue it on top of the white half ovals to complete the ears, then glue them on top of the green pom pom.
