Design Your Own Ornaments

Wondering how you can design those clear ornaments you see in craft stores? Clear ornaments are perfect for those looking for an ornament with a specific color or design that they cannot find.

Check out these ornaments Pershette made to get you started on your own ornament collection.

1.  Use Glitter-it! to add glitter to coat the inside of the ornament, whether glass or plastic, with glitter. Then, use a paint pen or a Sharpie marker to create a design on the outside.

You can also fill the ornament with beads, artificial snow and other items that you can easily pour into the ornament.

 Here are other examples...

This one was filled with artificial snow and designed with a paint pen. Paint pens are versatile, easy to use and mess free. They are definitely easier to write and draw with than a paintbrush.

Pershette used two different colors of glitter and paint pens to design this ornament.

The fun thing about clear ornaments is that you really can design your own custom ornament to represent your school spirit, to mark the year, display a hand print and any other special moments.

2.  Use an adhesive to glue sequins onto the ornament. You can use other textures such as pom poms, seed beads and more to decorate.

3.  Apply Adirondack Alcohol Ink to the inside of the ornament and swish it around to give a coat of color. Flip the ornament upside down to let any excess ink drain from the ornament, then use a paint pen or a Sharpie marker to decorate the outside.

You could also apply the color on the outside (instead of inside) using a foam applicator.

This would be a great project to for kids, especially as a gift for a loved one.
