Basic Quilling Technique

Quilling, also known as paper filigree, is an art form that uses strips of paper. These are rolled into shapes that can be used to create a design or an image. The basic technique of rolling the paper is the most popular.

Supplies:
Strips of Lightweight Paper
Glue
Quilling Tool
Paper Cutter

Directions:
Cut a1/8" or 1/4" strip of paper with your paper cutter.
Place the end of your paper strip into the slot in the tool.
Twist carefully around the tool until the entire piece is rolled.
Carefully slide the roll off the tool and glue the end with a tiny dot of glue.

This is the basic rolled technique. You can leave the coil loose by not glueing the end and you will get a slightly different look. The coils can be all in one color for a monchromatic design, or mix a variety of colors to create a scenic work of art.
