The Tale of How Ben Franklin Saved Christmas

How Ben Franklin Saved Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the store,
Not a person was shopping, not a gift on the floor.
The treasures were bought and bagged up with great care
In hopes the store closing time, soon would be there.
About to head home, couldn’t wait for our beds,
But, visions of presents still danced in our heads.
And Adrian with brief case, and I (in my Ugly Christmas sweater),
Tried to just settle down, but we should’ve known better!
When up on the store roof, a great crash and a clatter,
Adrian  dashed up stairs to see what was the matter.

To the roof ladder he flew like a flash,
Tore open the hatch to view a big smash.
There in the moonlight with tears in his eye
Was our old dear friend Santa taking stock with a sigh!
The old sleigh broke a runner that caused all the trouble
Now Santa just hoped to save toys from the rubble.

Then to our wondering eyes did appear,
Our wonderful staff with glue n’ hammers, it was clear,
They would spring into action, with talent, no fear
and fix all the damage and all with good cheer.

They loaded the sleigh, to the deer gave a whistle.
Santa jumped in the sleigh and shot off like a missile.
We heard him exclaim as he flew 'cross the sky

“Ben Franklin saved Christmas,”
Thank you all, and good bye!
