Just for Dad

Make dad a special gift from the heart for Father's Day.

Crafted by Pershette.

Supplies

  • Wooden Letters
  • Printed Scrapbook Paper
  • Paint
  • X-acto Knife
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive
  • Paintbrush

All supplies for this project can be found at our Bonney Lake store.

  1. Using a paintbrush, apply the paint to all the edges of the letters, including the backside.
  2. Set aside to let dry.
  3. Once dry, use the scissors and X-actor knife to trim the paper to fit the letters.
  4. Apply Mod Podge to the front side of the letters to adhere the paper.
  5. Glue the photos to the back side of the letter (photo side up) so that it shows through the letters.
  6. Apply Mod Podge to all the letters to seal. You can also apply it to the photos (optional).
  7. Paint your base (if you want a base).
  8. Set aside to let dry.
  9. Glue the letters onto the base in the desired manner. You can have the letters standing up to sit on a fireplace mantle or laying flat on the base to hang on the wall.

To give the base a complementing design, Pershette used Makin's Clay and rub it into a Crafter's Workshop stencil, then let dry.
