Happy 40th Birthday Picture Frame

Make a fun personalized birthday frame to give as a gift!

Crafted by Kellie.

Supplies

  • MDF Frame
  • Patterned Scrapbooking Paper
  • Wooden Numbers
  • Mod Podge
  • Stickles
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Foam Brush
  • Scissors

An MDF frame has a large flat surface that allows you to decorate and embellish more so than a regular frame.

You can use any paper you would like to decorate the frame, but Kellie used "Happy Birthday" by Reminisce.

  1. Use the foam brush to apply paint in the color of your choice to the side edges of the frame.
  2. Set it aside to let dry.
  3. Measure and cut the birthday themed paper to fit the front of the frame.
  4. Use Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the front of the frame.
  5. Set it aside to let dry.
  6. Cut out birthday words, such as "Happy Birthday" and glue it the desired areas of the frame.
  7. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the entire front to seal the paper and let it dry.
  8. Use Stickles to embellish the paper and frame.
  9. Apply Mod Podge to the wooden numbers and cover them with glitter.
  10. Shake any excess glitter off and set them aside to let dry.
  11. Then, apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to seal the glitter.
  12. Set the numbers aside to let dry.
  13. Once dry, glue the numbers to the desired area of the frame.
  14. Leave the frame laying flat as the numbers dry.
  15. Once all the glue is dry, the frame is ready to display!
