Snowflake Donation

When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible. 

There are two ways you can help:

• Make snowflakes and drop them off at our store.
• Come in to purchase the paper for your snowflakes and use our Snowflake Station, which we will supply scissors, glue and glitter for you to use to decorate your snowflakes.

The Snowflake Station will also have plain white paper for everyone to make and decorate one free snowflake to donate.

You can make the snowflakes however you would like, but we have read here to make the snowflakes as sparkly and glittery as you can with no words on them.

Drop off your snowflakes by January 2, 2013, which will give us adequate time to make sure all of the donated snowflakes arrive in time.

Recipe: Cake Pop

Here is a basic cake pop recipe that is easy to make and the perfect treat to serve at parties!

• 1 box cake mix
• 16 oz. ready made frosting
• 32 oz. candy melts

How-to: Attach a Clasp to a Cord

We receive a lot of questions on how to attach a clasp to a leather or satin cord.

But before we show you how to do that, you will need to know how to properly open and close a jump ring. There is a split in the jump rings, which allow you to connect them to other items.

Your first initial thought may be to open the jump ring by pulling it apart. That is actually the incorrect way to open a jump ring. Pulling the jump ring apart and pushing it back together to close is not secure. Doing it this makes it hard to secure the split, which may cause it to disconnect, resulting in a lost jewelry piece.
